Is it possible to retro-fit the parked car heating system? Mine has the diesel burner under the hood, which I think helps to warm the engine quicker on cold days. Can this be upgraded or reprogrammed to provide heating to the car in winter when it's parked on the driveway?

Do you mean a block heater? A block heater fits in a freeze plug hole and plugs into 110 current, or you can get hose heaters that hook into a radiator hose and they also plug into 110.

No, not a block heater - but the system that warms interior of car while it's parked up with engine not running. It's an extra cost option, & looks like system is already on car, but cannot be activated without a remote control or some programming? Can be accessed or upgraded to work without having to spend pots of money visiting the dealership?
