Can anyone tell me how to change the O2 sensor on my 2001 X5? The code indicates the problem is in the A Bank Is this something I can take on myself?

I'm defintely not aware of anything X5 related. Which engine do you have? Usually it's not that hard a problem, but im used to them on e34's and e36's. It's really not that difficult to change. I say, buy yourself the O2 sensors, and get your shop tp put it on a lift adn let them change it for a few bucks. Sorry I just dont know where yours are. Might be under certain cylinders or might be along your midpipe.

It's the 3.0 engine if that helps. I'm new here but a long time Bimmer owner, so it's nice to have someone respond. I think I'll go with your suggestion. Just buy them and have the shop do the dirty work. I have very little luck with things under the hood. I only open it to get shade!
Happy motoring!
