I'm picking up my white 2.5 X3 tomorrow and would like some input from owners on:

1. What to inspect before signing the paperwork,

2. What break-in procedures should be followed and for how long,

3. What products have owners had success with (wax, leather cleaner, etc.)

4. What do you wish you'd done with your brand new X3.

First Welcome to the board............your X3 is going to give you years of fun.

1) Normal stuff, nothing special....just make sure that parts are not missing, no dents scratches, fluid levels are full

2) Break in period is minimum 1200 miles.....keep it under 100mph or 4000 rpm

3) personal preference.......I like mcquires products

4) I wish I would have gotten the 3.0

Check the tire pressures. 29f/32r is recommended for light loads, 32f/38r for full loads. I used 32f/35r when my 2004 2.5 was still breaking in, and now use 38f/38r. The 2005 suspension is said to be a bit softer than the 2004, but it may still feel a bit stiff until it loosens up.

Congratulations on your new X3!
