Good day. Picked up a 2001 X5 4.4 today. Very clean car, low miles.

Noticed a front-end shimmy (wouldn't quite call it a vibration) at highway speed (starting at about 40 to 45).

Any thoughts? Simply get tires balanced (not sure if they are or are not)? Or something more 'common' in this vehicle to look at.

Thanks in advance.

probably front control arm bushings worn. easiest way to tell is drive really slow, like just off idle and jab the brakes a couple times. if you hear a bumping, or knocking and the steering wheel will jerk just a tad, then they're worn out.
